ExSEL Programs

NACME Scholars In cooperation with and funded by the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering (NACME) the NACME Scholar program supports 20 to 30 underrepresented engineering students through scholarship. The program also provides academic and personal support and monitoring for these students in partnership with ExSEL in order to ensure they achieve the Scholarship requirements.

Wade H. McCree Scholarship Program
Detroit Compact Scholarship Program

ExSEL Programs coordinates the Wade McCree and Detroit Compact Scholarship Programs on Michigan Tech’s campus. Similar to the NACME Scholar initiative, the Scholars are offered academic and personal support and attention.

MentorNet
ExSEL Programs coordinates the Michigan Tech MentorNet partnership. According to the MentorNet website, www.mentornet.net, MentorNet is The Mentoring Network for Diversity in Engineering and Science. Students have the opportunity to find an e-mentor in industry or academics; alumni or others in industry can become a mentor. MentorNet's structured mentoring program provides students with added information, advice, encouragement, networking, and community.

Make a Difference Youth Foundation
ExSEL Programs partners with the Chicago based Make a Difference Youth Foundation; Michigan Tech students provide e-tutoring to pre-college students via the foundation sponsored website.
